[ lesson learnt ]
my parents left for Shanghai last night. after such a long time they finally decided to take a good break and to visit my relatives there. so before they come back with all the cheap goods and pirated dvds, my bro and i are in charge of the house. heh heh. well im just glad they're able to get away from their endless work and go for a nice holiday together without my bro and me.
for some reason i decided to visit a flowershop (or whatever you call a shop that sells flowers). i went in, began looking around for something nice but well, you should know im the type that knows nuts about flowers. so i decided to get help from the store assistant. said i wanted to get a small bouquet for some friends. preferbly bright coloured ones. he showed me some already arranged ones in the fridge but i asked what about the others (the ones they always sold in stalks and displayed in the open). he gave a huge stare and asked me, "Are you Singaporean??" and i was thinking what the heck did i say wrong? then he told me those are usually used for cemeteries. -__-! mann... i never knew. but its a good thing i do now. if not i might have ended up buying them all as teachers' day presents. LOL. well in the end i did managed to find something that looked rather nice. not the ones for cemetries of course! but i hope the ones receving it would like it. its a gift from kevin and me.
wenfang sent me a really touching song titled 'never gone' by bsb that i cant stop listening to. though its just a simple song, its lyrics sure reaches deep down into the heart... thanks wf. cheer up okays? the unit and i need you... be strong :)

[ In Loving Memory... ]
things hasn't been going on right this entire week. first i got seriously stressed out with my studies and suffered a short "nervous breakdown". the thought of how a close friend went bonkers due to being overstressed only scares me more. but im all fine now after taking a day off from sch on thurs.
that very day a fairsian collapsed during pe and never woke up. i shun't add in the details about it cause everyone is already blogging on it. doreen was in the same cca as me, media@fairfield. though i never knew her personally, no doubt was it obvious she always had many close friends by her side and was well-liked. having received the news do sadden me much, especially to see my friends who know her well being so affected by it. what i heard from friends, she wasn't always happy due to the many problems she was facing. maybe thats why she didnt had much will to fight on. but then, her passing away made many of us think twice about life, of how fragile it is. blen and doreen's incident were classified as birth defects, but that doesnt mean the rest of us are spared. instead of feeling sad and regretful, which only time can heal, i urge you guys not only to learn, but always remember what doreen had to tell us - to live our life to the fullest. because life only come once and its so short and fragile, its a huge waste to spend it on anger, hatred and holding back the things we really wana do or say. and of course, to treasure those around us. don't wait before something happens, cause no one can tell when it will just like in the case of doreen and blen.
to my dearest redcross cadets... everything that could be done to save her had been done and no one is to be blamed. if God wants her home, we cant fight against that. consider doreen's condition, it was a miracle for her to live til this age, which goes the same for blen. they came into our lives to be a blessing, and lets pass on this blessing to those around us.
to all you out there, lets keep doreen, her family and close friends in our daily prayers.
that her family and friends be strengthen in morale and may doreen enjoy eternal life with our father in paradise.

[ The Maid ]
caught the movie, The Maid with some RC friends today. its hardly that the 8 generations get to go out together. so... the movie's basically about the chinese beliefs and supersitions on the 7th month, from a philippino maid's point of view. having the movie produced in singapore and about singapore, it easy to relate to the story, thus making it scarier during some scenes. so much so that fiona ghui cried on the way home! wahahas.
said she could imagine everything coming to life. well who knows, maybe... she did saw something we didn't? afterall the seven month has not ended...

if you haven't been reading the news, heres something you should be aware of.
"THREE men aged 16 to 22 were arrested at their homes yesterday for distributing 20,000 pirated digital music files using a program designed to share files over the Internet.This is the first time police have targeted home Internet users who distribute digital music but do not try to profit from it... offenders could be fined or JAILED."
so... finally the police decided to go hard on such users. speak about scapegoats. rather unfair for the three to get arrested to use as scapegoats while probably 1/4 the population in singapore continues downloading mp3s huh.
nonetheless, i got my mp3 peer to peer softwares deleted already, and i really urge you guys to do so. get the cd if you have to. its not worth getting a criminal record, not to mention being put behind bars over such stuff.
to kevin, stop all the porn download ehh. don't wana see you behind bars.

[ sarcasm? ]
english orals was conducted yesterday, with the main topic on Teachers. got so carried away at one point that i said, "some teachers are really unreasonable!" forgetting that the examiners were teachers too. *glups* to cover up i said, "opps sorry i don't mean you :)" hahas ok i know that sounded rather sarcastic. they laughed and i sure hope that doesn't mean a penalization for me. -___-
going to school now seems more like tuition, with all the many chem and chinese periods taken off my timetable and replaced by free periods. its a pity they're not the last periods. imagine friday... i'll be going home at 10.45am. wahaha.
was at jurong point yesterday looking for some gifts. an alarm sounded and an annoucement was made, "this is an emergency situation. all occupants and shoppers are to evacuate the building immediately" wahh... thought it was rather exciting. hahas. but anyways another annoucement was made saying it was only a false alarm lah. cheyy...

time is moving real fast... in a matter of days i'll be typing "prelims are tomorrow..." damn, i seriously need to get all hyped up for studying now.
had a conversation with my dad over dinner just now. he asked what i wana be when i grow up and i answered, "a teacher". his expression changed. said he was shocked and i had just shattered his dreams...
hmm...

chinese results were released yesterday. i... PASSED! PRAISE GOD! wahahas. :) though its only a pass, im glad. considering the fact my chinese has never been good. its a miracle i got a merit for orals! heh, thats unbelievable...
well i have no intentions of retaking the nov one. afterall i don't plan to use MT as one of my L1R4 subjects. so... yeah. guess thats the last of studying chinese for me. heh heh.

[ getting impatient ]

hmm... been waiting for the past 10min for photobucket to upload my pics... and its still loading. grr... im getting impatient. prelims are just 4 weeks away and so looking forward to it. chinese results will be out tomorrow and... ok, im nervous. (who isn't?) but then again, i felt i've done my best and left the rest to god. whatever the results tomorrow, im seeing it as a positive one. but nonetheless, please pray for us yah :) im hoping not to retake the papers.
was doing some polytechnic surfing just now and glad to know ngee ann offers courses on biomedical engineering - just what i wanted. well now it all depends how hard im willing to work for it. anyone interested to join me? :) hah. btw, do you know the GV citibank gold class threatre at great world city screens charlie and the chocolate factory and the audience is able to smell the scent of chocolate and watch the movie? lol interesting...

[ 4Oth National Day ]
was at the carnival@marina on monday with the school. went around collecting posters, taking photos and seeing the usual army vehicles and equipment. its amusing how the government entertain the little ones by having such army road shows...getting to sit on the tanks, ships and trucks as rides and getting the soilders to act as entertainers, guides and those that drive past in their fire engines and start waving at you. hahas. no disneyland here? not a problem. we got armyland! ;)
the layout was huge and 3hours wasn't enough time to cover everything. considering the rain delayed most of the "rides and attractions" something caught our eyes and we couldnt resist but spend the rest of our time we had on it - TABLE SOCCER! lol. so much for national education.
despite the horrible weather being hot and humid, we had great fun there.
since my parents were on holidays too yesterday, we decided to see showflats around the west. guess we're too used to the west already. shifting to the east would be like migrating to a foreign land for us. my father particularly liked the idea of buying two 2-room units side by side in a condo. my bro and i staying in one while my parents next door. said it could be alot easier for us in the future that way. if my bro decided to get married and shift out or take over the house, then i could move back in with my parents, or me vice versa. hahas... i dunno, but my bro and i wasn't keen on the idea. afterall all the 2 room units at lake holmz were sold out and so it looks like that isn't gonna be the case. my father wasn't impressed with any of the houses we saw... so i guess we have no plans to shift for the time being at least until we can find one at pleases him.
managed to catch the fireworks display at jurong east from my house. seemed more like a forest fire though. hahas. well it was nice, but seriously the i think the best way to experience NDP, is to be a part of it. as in taking part in the parade or performances and stuff. was surprising that the camera crew focused quite alot on the supporting contingents especially red cross as compared to previous years.
oyes. before i forget, HAPPY NATIONAL DAY TO ALL!

[ Underwear? ]
got to spend the sunday with my aunt and female cousins before they fly back to shanghai tomorrow. they migrated there about 2 years ago and come back to singapore for holidays only twice a year. so each time i see my 2 cousins.... well they grow quite alot. they went shopping and so i tagged along. afterall i couldn't stay put in the house any longer.
and... BOY, THAT WAS ONE SHOPPING TRIP! after all these years of going out and shopping with my mother I CAN NEVER NEVER UNDERSTAND whats going on in womens mind when they shop! tell them to get some thing you need and they spend hours looking at things all over the place which many of those they dont need. hah okok i shan't add a long list of things women do if not i know i'll see my tagboard getting spammed by them. -_-" anyways, they (my aunt and cousins) then spent easily an hour looking and trying on women's underwear, which again i don't know if they bought any. i waited outside the shop caused i never liked entering stores that purely sell women's products and my aunt called me in and gave me afew tips on choosing underwear for a woman. says it will be useful information for me in the future. wahaha. well... of course me being innocent, i couldnt really be bothered lar.

[ Stuck at Home ]
havent been out of the house since thursday and im begining to feel bored being stuck at home for 3 days already. the cough medicine's making me drowsy so i've been sleeping alot. hahas. missed out on cadets' recognition day today. heard it didnt turn out as good as expected, but its alright cause news received were that all our 5 fairsians passed ULP! CONGRATS! just as they are happy for passing, so am i for the 4 days of holidays ahead. err... did i say holiday? seems to be a study leave more like it. -__- yeahh, besides chillin out with a few friends on monday, its back to rot with my books at home on tuesday and wed.
been pondering over this quote from mr chia lately, "sometimes in life, there are no U-turns..."

"Toronto Airbus crash, all 309 passengers and crew survived" wow, all 309 including a nine month old child actually emerged from the flames alived. say whatever they have to about the efficiency of the crew and plane etc, to me its one magnificiant miracle and a test from god.
frankly speaking, there are times when i do question my faith, - catholicism, certain practises and all. i don't doubt it, but im hoping to find some answers. from traditional strict rules, christinity has become a big joke. well catholicism is part of the christinity faith, and i do consider myself a christian. maybe im just used to the traditional mass of praise and worship to him and of thanksgiving in a proper church environment, but i dont' quite understand how an auditorium or a concert hall smacked right in a middle of a shopping centre can be called a church? i attended one such service some time ago with a few friends, which venue i would rather keep confidental. the worship leader was leading in prayer and tuning his guitar at the same time -_-. i mean... shouldn't we be meditating and focusing on god when we're speaking to him?? when i asked friends what does recieving communion mean to them, they couldn't really answer. well, that only shows our attitude. just following the crowd without knowing the true meaning of it. don't get the wrong idea, im not critisizing protestants' belief, but i feel many christians out there are being very "cosmetic" and taking god for granted which even a majority of catholics are.
recently i remembered hearing an advertisement on radio about this "supposedly praise and worship event" called Sonic Feast. it said, "come join us for the biggest outdoor live entertainment ever!" you might have heard of the newly released pop album "Shout" by pop rockers and today's christian songs artise, including Darlene Zschech a pastor at hillsongs church sydney and others more. not only that, there were huge crowds eagger to attend one of the services when a famous singer was invited there to preech. when there was'nt one, the number of people attending its service just fell back down.
to conclude - people are seeing christinity as a form of entertainment that appeals to themselves. choosing which church they want to go to, preferbly one with good music, good interior, great events, but forgetting its sole purpose, our which to worship and praise god whole heartedly... not to mention, using god's name or if you would like to call it, the focus on him to make a profit of money from t-shirts, audio cds, dvds, etc. if its for charity maybe thats fine. but the thing is that it goes into their pockets. the whole faith and belief is fading... yet, its only us who can save it. prayy... amen.

[ bored... ]
ok, i have to apologise for the pervious entry. been rather moody these few days. cant explain why either. but im really sorry if i did express any of it especially to those who talked to me online. anyways, decided to put the bad stuff behind me and look ahead. not to worry, im alright now. feeling as joyful as a carebear would be! :)
on mc today. yeahh for the 3rd time in the past 3 weeks. owells. i should be getting more sleep. the new skin was just a matter of keeping me occupied. i quite like it. simple and cute, just like me! ;) well, comments are mostly appreciated. as in on the new layout, not me being cute. hahas, i know i am.

some people's character are really weird till the extent they become extremely annoying. they try to escape reality again and again, blaming each of their failures on others and thinking they're the almighty ones, just to console themselves. as the saying goes, sometimes when you think the world has turn its back on you, take a look around. you might be the one who has turned your back on it. well these people seriously need a tell-off in their face. fcuk it.

bigger eye bags, lesser attention span during lessons, easily getting lethargic and agitated are all just begining starting to show up on me. hmm increasing stress level maybe? sighh. the only thing that seems to revolve around my friends and i is the word STUDY. and when it gets so caught up in us that we forget about everything around us... and sometimes even God, then that totally sucks.
gosh, im so looking forward to O levels. and once it passes i'll be as carefree as a carebear!
today's chapel was on the topic BLOG. fine, i might be half asleep, but i dont quite understand what the heck does blog have to do with chapel? couldnt even find any link between the topic and the verses she gave. seems like they were all just "thrown in" to make it seem like a christian sermon. why not just make it easier for everyone and call it a lifeskill lesson? i feel that the school and chapel is starting to lose its christian meaning, especially when you have christian ministry staff who backstab you. well i might be wrong, but its just an opinion.
